When I have an existing Use Case diagram for an actor and wish to add an existing use case to the diagram, I pull over the Use Case icon and it immediately creates a new ID and Name of "New Use Case".

Is there a way to just add the Icon and populate it with the ID and Name of an existing Use Case?

I can pull from the Shapes menu and type in, but then there is not way of having it automatically display the ID and I believe there is not linking from this added shape with text.

An example is the course registration demo and the professor UCD.  I want to add "Sign Up For Course" to the professor's UCD and then find I cannot do this by dragging the Use Case icon into the diagram.

Hi,

No problem - instead of dragging from the tools library (which creates a new use case), drag the desired use case from the model browser on the right.

If you haven't already, I encourage you to take a look at the diagramming tutorial which is a great resource for tips such as this.  To open the tutorial, close existing models, or start CaseComplete without opening a model.  The diagramming tutorial link is in the Getting Started section in the lower left of the start page.
